A truly exotic scent from Balmology!

I’m a huge fan of face oil. So there’s no surprise here that lately I have been reviewing face oil. My latest acquisition and object of affection is the Balmology Exotic Rose Beauty Oil. I picked up a sample from Naturisimo, which you can purchase with any full size product purchase on their site. The size is quite generous which is 4 ml for the price of £2. A really great way to test whether you’re going to like the product or not. As it happened to be, I don’t just like it but I love it.

Here’s a complete ingredient list:

Argania spinosa kernel (argan) oil, Macadamia ternifolia (macadamia) oil, Corylus avellana (hazelnut) oil, Rosa canina (rosehip) oil, Persea gratissima (avocado) oil, Tocopherol, Cymbopogon martini (palmarosa), Pelargonium graveolens roseum (geranium bourbon), Boswellia carterii (frankincense), Rosa damascena (rose otto). Naturally occurring in essential oils: citral, citronellol, eugenol, farnesol, geraniol, limonene, linalool.

So why do I love it?

First of all, I’m quite surprise that the first ingredient in this product is Argan oil because in the past, this oil act like my nemesis. I hardly ever react badly toward a product or ingredient, but Argan oil is the one ingredient that I consistently cause cystic acne on my skin.

But considering the complete and wide array of ingredient here and Argan oil is not dominating the floor, I can understand why this product doesn’t react negatively on my skin. Here’s what I love from the ingredient: Avocado and Rosehip oil. They’re both oils that my skin love because they keep my skin well hydrated and make my skin texture appear smoother. I also love the effect of Frankincense that makes my skin appear fresh.

The belle of the ball in this bottle is actually Rose Otto, that is soothing on my sensitive skin (and at its utmost sensitive time), hydrating and smells lush! This oil actually smell of rose and black tea. A truly divine combination that I enjoy everytime I’m putting it on my skin.

Texture-wise this oil is really light that I don’t need a lot. I’m quite surprised that this lasts me this long. I only used half of the bottle for the last 1.5 months. Although not everyday, but at least every other day.

Who is it for?

I think this is a good oil for those looking for lighter oil alternative than the Antipodes Divine Face Oil but equally hydrating. Something that works similar to Goodness Chia Seed Oil or Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ with better scent – although I must admit that in terms of scar mark and texture those two still work better. Or just good old oil that able to keep your redness and sensitive skin at bay.

This oil is £30 for 50ml.
