Top 5 Natural Skincare Face Mists: Sukin, Trilogy, January Labs, Antipodes & Jacqueline Evans

My friend told me that I should make a list of my favourite skincare. So I am doing it now and it seems that everyone is asking for it because Caroline Hirons is doing it. So in this post I’m only going to include face mist from natural brands, not including the ridiculously expensive one and the non-natural brands. Cause I can’t decide like that. Also, it’s not in any particular order.

I actually posted this a while back on my Instagram, but here goes a more elaborate version. I’m asked many times whether this hydrating toner and that hydrating toner is more hydrating than the others. First of all, I want to clarify that I personally think the most hydrating toners are those that you pat into your skin using cotton pad, it allows for better absorption. Second is the gel type that you apply by hands, but sometimes it will take time to absorb. Lastly, is the face spray. It sort of sit on top of your skin and dries off. But I like the cooling sensation though.

In this post I want to give you the comparison of the face mist from the natural skincare brands.

Yuli Liquid Courage is the best antioxidant serum I’ve tried so far

I’ve been talking about antioxidant serum for so long now, I’ve even reviewed several that I’ve used so far here. I think they’re important as a way to prevent and maintain your skin to be at their tip top condition as well as to evades and neutralises the negative effect of UV rays. With that said, I have yet to see significant change in my skin when I’m using antioxidant serum. I do however see how significantly my skin look easily tired, getting more sensitive because of the UV rays and way easily tanned when I’m not using antioxidant serum. I think the effect is more on when I’m not using it, my skin isn’t as fit.

But that is until I had my eczema attack and I can’t use sunscreen because my derm is afraid that my skin will react negatively against the sunscreen ingredients. After almost a month of not using sunscreen and my skin didn’t get tanned easily, looked dull and greyish and my complexion remained even tone, I know how excellent my antioxidant serum is and it truly works!

What did I use? I used the Yuli Skincare Liquid Courage which is pretty steep in terms of price at USD 50 for a trial size of 7.5ml and USD 125 for 30ml. At today’s exchange rate that is pretty wow. I considered myself lucky when a fellow skincare enthusiast that I get acquainted on Instagram offer me this bottle because it didn’t suit her.

Why you shouldn’t wipe off your cleansing milk with cotton pad?

Last week I wrote a budget beauty skincare post. In that post I mentioned about cleansing milk and how you shouldn’t wiped it off with cotton pad. Apparently, there are few questions regarding this. So to make matter clear. Let’s do a post.

What do you use cleansing milk for?

Cleansing milk can be used for first or second cleanser. But to my experience, most cleansing milk doesn’t really cleanse waterproof makeup thoroughly. There are few exceptions in the market that does. But for the life of me I couldn’t think of any at this time. So perhaps there isn’t?

Anyway, if you’re wearing very minimal makeup or only sunscreen you can get away with using cleansing milk to cleanse your makeup.

But other than that I prefer using cleansing milk as a morning cleanser or second cleanser. But for drier skin there are times when cleansing milk feels much better and comfortable than gel, balm and oil.

How do you use cleansing milk?

Use it on dry skin or damp, never on wet skin as it will disintegrate cleansing milk real fast and no cleansing action done at all. Massage it allover your face and rinse with water until your skin is clean.

Never use cotton pad!

I love the Osmia Organics Black Clay Facial Soap. Although the pH is quite high, but it really cleanse my skin and unclogged my pores allowing the bumps and acnes to surface sooner. I use this as a second cleanser and still use other product for first cleanser. I normally go with balm and cleansing oil that you can easily emulsify during this kind of situation.

If you’re looking for acne treatment, try Odacité Bi+C

When I first heard about Odacité I squint at the price. I closed the window of my browser when I realised that the booster serum is only 5ml in size. But then I get the chance to purchase the sample sizes when I ordered some stuff from Naturisimo and I had the pleasure to try a full potter of the Po+G for extra hydration. From that moment on I can’t stop including Odacité in my skincare routine because it’s just too good.

You’ve all heard how I love Ba+S for my eyes area. Now let me tell you about Bi+C (Black Cumin and Cajeput). It’s a blend of Black Cumin, Cajeput and Vitamin E (Tocopherols) oil. Together they make a great dream team for banishing the acne.

I’m not in the mood to go all scientific but here’s why I love this booster. I know the size is really small, but I’ve been using them for almost 3 months and I’m only half way through. The reason is because I’m not the type of person with acne-prone skin but I still need products that can help to aid my skin when PMS hits and acne sprouts out of nowhere. Most of the time I didn’t get to finish most of my acne specific products because I don’t used them all the time. So, for me, the size is perfect! Secondly, it’s really effective to tackle my acne, it helps the smaller bumps to really dries out in a day and for a bigger one and cystic acne to heal and come to head faster. As for cystic acne, it really helps with solving the problem thought it still need more than a week for it to completely heal. It also helps with the acne in terms of hyperpigmentation, when it heals, it doesn’t leave such a bad PIH anymore. If I pick on my acne, it helps to dry and close off the scar faster.

How to use it?

My thought on the new formula of Kypris Clearing Serum

screen-shot-2016-09-17-at-10-09-39-am

Kypris Clearing Serum has garnered a steady follower over the last one year. I’ve previously reviewed the Clearing Serum in Female Daily. It was love at first sight with this serum because it’s able to control my PMS acne and also it able to help cystic acne come to head much faster.

However, at the time when I wrote the review Kypris had actually launched a new version of the serum, which means the review for the old one is probably, need to be revisited. As I’ve been using the new version of the Kypris Clearing Serum for couple of months now, I think it’s only right that I revisited my original review on Kypris Clearing Serum.

Skincare doesn’t have to be expensive

screen-shot-2016-09-17-at-10-47-33-am

Lately, I’ve been asked a lot about budget skincare. But when you think about the word ‘budget’ what exactly is the range? Apparently the range goes from USD 10 – 30 dollars or in Indonesia it’s somewhere around below IDR 100,000 or below IDR 300,000. So I thought why not make a post about it.

I think Skincare doesn’t have to be expensive. You can find good products in drugstores for as low as IDR 50,000. Skincare is more of a commitment instead of budget. Whatever your budget is, the time you’re willing to commit for using your skincare is more important.

Skincare is a commitment to use it twice a day and without fail. Consider this as investment. A lot of my friends are now entering their 40’s and when I see them, I see the reaffirmation that using skincare truly makes a difference. Their skin looks younger, fresher and healthier compared to other people their age who doesn’t really take care of their skin. I think when you’re in your teenager and 20’s you have it easy. If your lifestyle isn’t really affecting your skin, your skin condition bounce back really fast. But as you enter your 30’s you can really start to see the difference, and when you finally hit 40’s that’s the defining mark.

With that said, please do take care of your skin as soon as possible. You can have it as easy as cleanse, tone, moisturise and protect with sunscreen. You can read it all in this article if you don’t know where to begin.
